Its 6:55 monday evening I am sitting with pepsi in my favorite glass in my living room alone next to the glass doors that lead to porch outside nd listening to tera hone laga hoon from ajab prem ki gajab kahani nd writing this post........... Why so much description? because i want to capture this moment forever.
Today is the 3rd day of October break.......2morrow break is coming to an end :(
Its funny how unexpected things in ur life make you happy. Few days back I was planning to go to chicago to spend fall break with my cousin and had actually managed to get a ride for $25 bucks. But then one 'fine' night had a 'fight' with mom nd the whole plan came crashing down. Here I need to stress, why this fight was important.......... usually i am a very obedient girl and I seriously do not remember ever having a serious fight with momma. And after the whole drama which ended in me being miserable finally I was not going to Chicago...........(I seriously do not know why the memories in my life which i want to capture have somewhere mention of Chicago in them).
So when my cousin came to know this he decided to drive all the way to lafayette to meet us(Really very very sweet of him). I was pretty much excited about him coming here. He came here around 12:30(i guess) and we went directly to have lunch. Options were between chinese and indian cuisine...........nd shefali got to decide(I dont remember why though?) and we went to bombay to have a buffet there. Took a while to find the parking (the funniest thing was we drove all the way back to williamsburg to find a parking place, better idea was to walk but....)nd then we parked somewhere near university and went there.(And no i did not eat any animal here, still that fish is the only time i have ever had non-veg till now :)). I wanted to show him the university, my school and lab where i work.......good idea was again to walk but i dunno he wanted to drive so i showed him from outside my school nd couldn't show him my lab coz again we could not find a suitable parking place......... and while trying to find parking we ended being close to walmart so we went there for grocery shopping. Best thing about ur cousin having car is that there is no limit on things you can buy bcoz u do not need to carry them. Guess how much was the bill around $170. (OMG I have spent around Rs.10000 on grocery shopping that's too much glad to have funding man seriously!!!!!!!!!!). Had really fun time with him.
Next day sunday.........its shopping time again off to tipp mall. To tell you truly I always considered myself as someone who hated to shop. I had gone along with siddharth and shefali to buy hoodies. Initially we went to Macys to check out some jackets which shefali wanted to buy. Selected one but obviously she wanted to check out in other stores before finalizing on to this one.......... So as we were about to leave I decided do some window shopping and what do i find T-shirts for 5 bucks too good and obviously i got one for myself. Then went to aerostaple to get hoodies again what do I find here 70% flat off on some t-shirts again here we go checking them out (what is the need for me to do this i dunno) and loved this black one and so buy it. Whats wrong with me? It is usually shefali who ends up buying more stuff not me!!!!!!!!! Here I found a shopaholic in me. Came back home and guess who was here...... R. And well had so much fun I do not want to mention the reason of our entertainment............. I wanted to play TT with R and we were not able to decide the timing as to when to meet today. So in the end he got pissed and said monday morning 9:00 am and I was like fine. We matched timings in our cell and it was decided that we will wait till 9:01 am and go back home if one of us does not turn up. Well a challenge............. I am on for it.
So here comes monday morning(i.e. today) got up early 8.00 and got ready by 8.55. Left home at 8.59 and reached the place dot @ 9.00. What do i see nobody there was happy coz I thought now he has lost the challenge but guess what by 9.01 he was there. He came running but made it before 9.01. So here we went off to play TT. He is a pretty good player and obviously I lost most off the matches......... but it was totally fun............ fundoo.
Its amazing how sometimes your plan does not work out but still you end up being very happy because somebody up there has something else planned for you which may turn out to be much better. It is fun because Life is unpredictable.

Weird Day
This was 2 weeks back. It was long weekend so decided to go to Chicago. Last moment decision (how typical of me) so it had to be expensive. Had to shell out $60(but its fine atleast will get to spend sometime in chicago). Had booked greyhound bus. It was around 5 o'clock in the morning. A friend woke me up and well I woke others up and we got ready.
Went to the bus stop early and waited for almost half an hour, now it was due time but the bus hasn't come yet..............very confused as to why bus has not come. Then somebody informs us that bus stop has changed and we go running to the new bus stop but alas we had missed the bus. I was feeling like hell. First time I had ever missed a bus "horrible feeling" trust me (esp when u spent $60). First reaction started cursing this new place (I know that's not fair but u somehow dont want to like this country bcoz its not INDIA). Nothing much could be done. Possible solution: Wait for the next bus which was in the evening :( and u are not totally sure if you will be allowed to sit
1) Because u had ticket for morning bus 2)Since its long weekend the bus might be full.
But obviously we were gonna turn up this time to the right bus stop in the evening to try out our luck.
I was totally disappointed and miserable. On our way back my friend who had woken me up, I guess took some pity on my condition and we decided to go for a walk instead of going back home. So rest headed back home while we went somewhere near university side.(The main reason for this walk was that we needed some milk to make chai :)).
It was first match of the season so many people were in their fancy dress and huge lines were there in front of the bars(which were not opened as yet). Never seen anything like this at purdue. Liked the enthu of crowd and was feeling much better now. We went to the 2 indian stores nearby but hello who is open at 5.30 in the morn. So obviously could not get any milk.
Then went to his house to get the milk then came back and made some chai. It was 6.30 by now and my housemates were sleeping(I was like how can they come back and go to sleep they had just missed a bus but obviously they were handling situation better than me). Then we made some chai :) and I was feeling much much better now.
Well so much for the morn....................then again another frnd came in, well he was also pretty much surprised to find us at home. Again I went with him to downtown to check if greyhound bus service office was there but again I stay in a village so no office here. Had to wait till evening. A long wait.......................................................
Then atlast in the evening we got the bus there were around 15 to 20 people who had missed the bus in the morn. We were allowed in the bus so was a bit relaxed. And the journey to chicago began. The bus was full of blackies and this lady was shouting on top of her voice. She started speaking to me some random stuff I was fine wid it but got boring and she was getting bit scary too(I mean a bit aggressive kind off) so decided to ignore her now. Except for that weirdo nothing great in the bus.
Bus arrived Chicago it was 9 at night and my cousin had come to pick me up. The greyhound bus stop is in the centre of Chicago. He showed us around at night. This was the best part about missing the bus. Chicago at night was simply amazing. Tall buildings kissing the skies. Lights all around making the scene prettier. The water front (which is somewhat like marine drive). It was awesome.
By the time he took us to have dinner it was 10 I guess. We went to this pakistani restaurant. It was mainly bcoz he wanted to have non-veg and one of my friends also eats non-veg, so here we were. Not many veggie options here but thats fine. And I dunno what but suddenly I decided to try out something new. I went ahead and had fish for the first time. Being veggie this was the first time I had non-veg. After 20 years of my life suddenly I try something new. Result: Fish was good but nothing unique. I felt nothing after I had it. Dunno why I was so apprehensive of having non veg before. I realised its never to late to new try out new things. You just need to be open regarding it.
Then we went back home And thus the day ended.
What a day! my feeling took a complete 180 degree turn over the whole day. But as they say All is well that ends well, it was a pretty ending to a terrible day :). What a weird day.

A new begining...............is it?
This post was long due but again because of my laziness.......................I simply couldn't set myself up for writing.
Newayz thanks to this boring day I find myself writing this post. It's been 40 days today as I set foot on this country UNITED STATES.....................
Few years back I would not even dream about coming here for studying my Master's 2 reasons for this-
1. I did not want to leave INDIA
2. I hated computers (that was 4 years back when I got admitted for computer engineering now things have changed, obviously I love them.......... that's another story :))
Not diverting from the topic................. I still cannot believe I am in this country........... I feel guilty for saying this but I am starting to like this country too.
I remember the goodbyes at the Ahmedabad airport the wet eyes of my parents still make me nostalgic(Thank goodness nobody cried). The long wait in Mumbai for 10 hours and the chats I had with my friend for most of that time on mobile. It was sweet of everyone to keep me entertained............THANKS PEOPLE LOVE YA VERY MUCH.
And then after a long journey of 14hours I was finally here NEW YORK my entry port in this country................. I thought I should be excited but somehow there was no excitement.............. Then came the thing I was waiting for a long time A STAMP ON MY PASSPORT and the joy it gave me was ..................... immense. (Funny isn't it that small things give you more pleasure than bigger picture).
I was in United States............new country...........new culture................new people.............new friends.......................new experiences.....................
A NEW BEGINING.......................(on second thoughts).............is it?

Kali Gardens
OM! OM!
I wanted to write my own blog from quite a some time but didn't get time not that i am a very busy person but my laziness also does not help much.
My first blog is about one of my most favourite places Kali Gardens(Nambur). This is my birthplace. My maternal grand parents live here. It is an ashram founded by babuji as we lovingly call him.
An awesome place to be at. I love this place because of its atmosphere. I feel my inner (read spiritual) self here. I feel closer to GOD. Getting up early in the morning going to temples, attending pujas in the afternoon or attending evening prayer sessions all of them are so awesome........speechless. One needs to be there feel the calmness or sereneness of the place.
Also this place is special to me because of wonderful vacations spent here with all my cousins. My maternal family is pretty big, I have 3 uncles and 4 aunts thus loads & loads of cousins when all of us get together its just a blast. I miss this place a lot. I love it out there. Always look forward to going there.
